The Empennage has arrived!

August 27, 2004

OK, OK ~I KNOW~ It's been 8 months since I've updated the site. I've learned a lot in these past months. For one thing, things are never as they seem. I've read a couple of very good articles about how to save up enough money to get started building the plane. Most notably, Doug Reeve's article. Still, around our house, once money starts accumulating in any account anywhere, SOMETHING ALWAYS COMES UP TO USE IT UP!!! Christmas, birthdays, you name it. To top it off, Liz and I decided that it would be better if we paid off the credit cards before we spent any more money on stuff. Good Grief.

Anyway, the good news is that the cards are all paid off and (drum roll) I've ordered the empennage!!!!

I guess it takes about a week to get here so in the mean time I'm cleaning the shop.

November 15, 2003

Not quite enough to place the order because of the electric trim option. Still, it's very close.

November 13, 2003

According to the Save-O-Meter, we have enough to order the empennage! Liz and I will be placing the order soon!

November 3, 2003

We should be ordering in about mid-November. My wife and I are currently trying to decide between Electric vs. Manual trim. I have only flown Cessna's with Manual trim and it seems OK. I kind of like the idea of a hat switch on the stick for trim but like I said, have never flown it. I also am not sure if you need Electric if you plan to have altitude hold.

If you have any comments or opinions on the subject I would be happy to hear from you. bill at kane-king.com

Refer to the Save-O-Meter to see how close to ordering we are.
